Consistency in Teacher Assessment?

I posted a survey with 10 hypothetical – but not uncommon – situations in which writing might take place in a classroom, and asked teachers to say whether or not they are permitted under the current guidance for “indepencence” when it comes to statutory assessment. It seems that mostly, we can’t agree:

      If I knew for certain what they were, I would.
      That’s half the problem. Too much is open to interpretation.

    LOL! And so much is dependent on who is ‘quality assuring’ you and their own interpretation. So much subjectivity in a system that is supposed to measure standards…

    I’m just going to admit my ignorance…it’s safer that way!
    What current guidance are you referring to?
    When the answer is unreasonable, does that suggest it’s considered bad practice?
    I’ve been on maternity leave and it’s amazing how having 1 year away makes you feel out of touch with so many things.

      Don’t worry – werwe’re all ignorant here, hehe the discrepancies in responses.
      The guidance comes from the STA clarification document for Writing moderation, but it offers barely a paragraph to guide things.
